• Privately taught by award winning saxophonist Toni Kofi, and mentored by legendary saxophonist Ron Holloway.
• Fifteen years experience as a private saxophone tutor.
• Saxophone tutor at Soham Village College for nine years.  Big band established featuring up to 8 piece horn section playing a combination of funk and jazz.  Big band played on numerous occasions including Jazz Café nights with WSYJO.
• Saxophone tutor at South Lees in Bury St Edmunds for approximately 3 years.
• Saxophone tutor at Linton Village College 2003-2009. Bands and small ensembles established with much success.
• Many of Phil's students are performing in CYJO, WSYJO and NYJO.  Many others form their own bands or join established ones.  Many former students go on to further their development at University or Conservatoire level.  Many current and former students regularly sit in with recognised professional jazz musicians in the local jazz scene.
